Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm or 9:00am–5:30pm

We’re recruiting on behalf of our client, a respected UKAS-accredited testing and consultancy business recognised for its scientific excellence and customer commitment. Providing microbiological, chemical, and molecular analysis services to clients across the UK, they play an important role in supporting the safety and compliance of hospitals, healthcare facilities and public environments.

They’re now looking for an Internal Sales Executive to join their team — a proactive and commercially minded individual who thrives on building relationships, following up leads, and developing new business opportunities within existing client accounts.

The Role

Working as part of a busy and collaborative team, you’ll handle a mix of inbound and outbound activity, focusing on customer engagement, service development, and growth. This isn’t cold calling — it’s about building trust, identifying opportunities, and adding value for long-term clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop existing customer relationships, identifying opportunities to expand services across departments and sites
  • Follow up new leads and incoming enquiries to maximise conversion and revenue
  • Liaise closely with laboratory, logistics, and operations teams to ensure seamless customer service delivery
  • Dealing promptly with customer queries using ZOHO ticket & CRM system
  • Provide quotations, pricing information, and support contract renewals
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in customer engagement and commercial processes
  • Responsible for building and strengthening the customer relationship
  • Managing expectations and being the trusted point of contact for all
  • Liaising with business functions to support both the customer and business
  • Upselling existing clients, advising of new products and services
  • Ongoing contracts management including regular service reviews
  • Delivering sales growth in identified accounts to meet sales target

 

 

About You

  • Previous experience in sales, internal account management, or a customer support role with a commercial focus
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive, driven approach to following up leads and nurturing business opportunities
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident working across multiple projects
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • A background or interest in science, healthcare, or technical services would be an advantage but is not essential
